Problem With Electric Windows

window switch was working fine and all of a sudden passengers side goes down but not up the front drivers side stopped working completely. have taken the switch off to replace but turns out that it is not the switch that is at fault. Fuses are ok has any one had this problem before if so have you got any solutions? 1997 reg 2.3 Galaxy Ghia
